Art Institute

Earlier in this month we had a guest speaker, from the art institute. She was head of the culinary department yet knew quiet a bit on the technology design courses avlaible.  She gave a 45minute presentation. Her presentation was extremely use full showing the different courses avalible at the Art Institute of Pittsburg. Her influences made me consider the possiblity of attending  college there. Yet I they do not carry the degree I wish to achieve, which is a degree in science education 5-adult with a masters in education administration. While someone interested in getting a degree in one of the arts may attend there because of there various degrees in the arts.

Thinking about game design and creation.

I play video games often in my spare time. These games are often war video games, such as MW2 and games like that. These games would probably conisdered action-adventure games. Which would be a diffuclt catagory to do and do well.
 Making the mini game gives me a new perspective on the ammount of work that goes in to making games. This is a difficult but rewarding process and in the end everybody will think why didn't you do this well they haven't ever made a game and if they would have they would also have a differnt perspective on the work that goes into games such as MW2.

So in my oppinion all of the people who fail to notice the ammount of work to make a game should just go in one time and try to make one them selves and then they would respect the work then. Game making even in a Mini Game designed to be easy is a difficult process and verry time consuming.

Somthing I learned in Globaloria.

In Globaloria over the year I have learned and researched many things in globaloria. Our class is in the social issue bracket.  My group is creating a game around the topic of child abuse. Which is a social issue that people need to be aware of.

My group is going to create a game targeting child abuse. The way this game will work is you will answer questions on the social issue of child abuse. For each correct answer you will win fuel. After you earn enough fuel with out failing you will send me (devon) to the gods. If you fail to get enough fuel to send me to the gods. I will come back down and crash and land on your screen.

I found out all sorts of info researching information about my topic. Like the statisic of the number of kids abused which is a alarming amount. So I beleive this social issue needs to be adressed so my group and I are adressing the issue.

Team Touchables

In our class we are doing social issue games. My team consists of me, Cody, and Alex, we are the touchables. For our game we are going to send me to the gods if you win. You may have to answer questions about numerous social issues to earn fuel to send me to the gods. If you dont earn enough fuel i wont make it to the gods, and will squash you. So this is what were going to do for our game basicly.

Social Issue Genre

The genre that I am most interested in for my game is action. Because this genre has a wide varriaty of things you can do with it. such as these games comprise a very wide variety of activities with some basic similarities of gameplay. Action games usually require fast reflexes and timing to overcome challenges include combat as a main theme. Example types of action games include platformers and fighting games. So this will be appropriate type of game play for my idea.

Importance of Internet Safety

Internet Safety is extremely important and should not be taken lightly. When using the internet you should always be careful of things that will comprimise your safty on the internet. A few things of that nature are putting private or persoanl information on the internet. You should never reveal your full name, your adress, and/or other contactinfo.

While using the internet be aware of pop-ups, these can give your virsus. It is important to practice internet safty skills at all times. Because you can get your identity stole. If you reveal your full name on the internet people can find your adress and show up at your home or place of work with intent to do harm. So always be aware of people you do not know and of revealing your information on the internet

Globaloria In the Beggining.

    In Globaloria so far this year we have covered alot of information. Such as we have learned how to set up our wiki,blog, and email.

First, thing we learned this year, was how to set up our wiki which is Devon's Wiki. We learned to use HTML code, to add pictures change font colors, and back grounds. We added pictures to our wiki. Also used differnt fonts and back ground colors.

Secondly, we learned how to set up a blog. After that we sat up a blog we learned to follow our class mates. Then we added gadgets to it such as, pictures, a poll, and about me.

Also, actualy first thing we did was set up a email. Which is very easy, but it took some time.
